Gerard Temme receives the European Flight Test Safety Award

The European Flight Test Safety Award is this year given to Gerard Temme of Certiflyer.
This Award was given for the best achievement during the Flight test safety workshop of the Society of Experimental Test pilots at the National Aerospace Laboratory in Amsterdam.

During the workshop Gerard Temme gave a presentation on safety during Experimental Certification Test Flying. The Award was handed over during the Workshop dinner on November 13, 2008.

Gerard was very surprised to receive this Award, as it is rare that this happens to a Certification Test pilot. In Certification test flying we do not normally seek the open, as we work with confidential information from the Manufacturers. Gerard has de-identified all the examples used in his presentation.

The presentation was based on almost 30 years experience with test flying for the Dutch and European Authorities, in which timeframe he has tested more than 25 aircraft types.
